Makaibari is located at Kurseong, land of the white orchid in Darjeeling. It is the world’s first tea factory and was established in 1859. This is a beautiful second-flush from this traditional garden and it has an aromatic, nutty aroma.
For this tea we suggest trying the Western-style of brewing. The idea behind it is to use much less leaf and much more water while brewing-times are much longer to extract as much of the flavor as possible at once.
The Kalej Valley tea plantation is distinct from the others, and delivers a taste sensation that is fruity sweet and slightly wooden.
The cool climate, and the winds which sweep across from the Indian Ocean give this tea a unique, refreshing flavour.
The beverage is semi-dark, and the taste is medium-strong with a slightly malty aftertaste.
