Lapsang tea was invented by chance in the village Xincun during the Qing Dynasty 221 BC. Fresh leaves were dried over fires of pine and cypress wood to create this iconic unmistakable flavour and character of smokiness and char. A robust smoky flavour makes the tea pair well with spicy food and whiskey. Also perfect as an added flavouring in foods and cocktails.
This Lapsang Souchong is organic and comes from controlled organic cultivation, and the flavouring is fully certified organic.
For this tea we suggest trying the Western-style of brewing. The idea behind it is to use much less leaf and much more water while brewing-times are much longer to extract as much of the flavor as possible at once.
The Kalej Valley tea plantation is distinct from the others, and delivers a taste sensation that is fruity sweet and slightly wooden.
This tea is fresh yet soft and best enjoyed without milk or sugar.
Powerful, rich, and deep in colour. Perfectly suitable as a musky yet smooth milk tea.
