The Teesta Valley Tea Garden is one of Darjeeling’s most celebrated and lends its name from the mountainous Teesta river that begins in the eastern Himalayas, flows through the Indian states of Sikkim and West Bengal as well as Bangladesh before releasing into the Bay of Bengal.
Established in 1841, the garden produces some of the world’s finest teas. Carefully selected bushes from China were since its inception planted with infinite care in a highly advantageous location compared to other estates in the area. The Teesta Valley is situated in the cold sunny slopes, stretching upwards from 760 to 2000 metres above sea level.
The fertile slopes are blessed by the cool mists, bright sunshine and crisp winds of the Kanchenjunga. Together they help the bushes mature and provide a tea rich in love and passion with the most pure and legendary flavors of Darjeeling.
In this particular batch (DJ-2/21), you will find a light, delicate and refreshing flavour. The fascinating mouthfeel provides an unparalleled character and charm.
The liquor is a golden orange hue with hints of delicious floral aromas, slight notes of roasted nuts and sweet grass. Each sip is very smooth, bringing to mind fresh white roses and fresh jasmine flowers with undertones of fennel seeds, honey, citrus and distinct muscatel notes.
